Comer - Fred A. Thomas, 79, husband of Darlene Thomas, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at St. Maryís Hospital.
Mr. Thomas was a native of Oglethorpe County and had lived most of his life in Madison County. He was the son of the late Isham and Clela Franklin Thomas and was also preceded in death by his son Steve Thomas. He was the owner and operator of Thomas Service Station in Comer and served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Thomas is survived by his son, Daniel J. Thomas of Comer; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Johnny Adams of Hartwell, Felisha and Bently Fitzpatrick of Comer; brother, Aubrey Thomas of Comer; grandchildren, John Adams, Jamie Adams and Adrienne Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren, Hannah Adams and Jesse Adams.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11AM at Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Mike Sarna and Calvin Coile officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Meadow Baptist Church.
