Stephens - Fred Howard Lindsay, Sr., died Monday, August 31, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 1PM at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Hemphill, J. Tim Hayes, Stephen, Kevin and Cameron Lindsay.
A native of Fulton County, GA, he was the son of the late William Wesley Lindsay and Felton Claudia Frazier Lindsay. Fred became a disabled veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict as a US Marine. He received three Purple Hearts. He was a Mason and a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his sons: Fred Lindsay Jr., of Stephens, Ed (Cathy) Lindsay of Lawrenceville; sister: Mildred Lindsay Thomas of Decatur; grandchildren: Stephen (Carisa) Lindsay, Kevin Lindsay, Kristen Lindsay; great grandchildren: Cameron, Aiden and Brendan Lindsay and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 6 to 8 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.
