Athens - Fred Landers, Jr., 70, died January 31, 2006.
A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Elsie Nelms and Fred Landers, Sr. He was employed at Athens Coca-Cola for thirty-one years and the University of Georgia for eleven years until his retirement. Mr. Landers was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Athens Lions Club and one of the first members of the Oconee Lions Club. He was a member of Watkinsville Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Farmington Cemetery. Rev. Durrell Rice and Mr. Jimmy Edwards will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Landers; son, Anthony Todd Landers of Watkinsville; two sisters, Lucy Keim of Tampa, FL and Frances Sorrow of Athens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Farmington Cemetery Fund.
