Fred M. Carter

Fred M. Carter, 75, of Bishop, Georgia died yesterday at home surrounded by family. He was born January 23, 1936, in New Iberia, Louisiana to A.V. and Edna Grilliette Carter. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Carter and five children. They are Stacy Daniel, Thomas P. Carter and wife Donna (Bethlehem, GA), Fred Carter, Jr. (Leesville, LA), Jan Dolese (Leesville, LA) and Douglas Carter (Luling, LA) and 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one sister, Edna Marie Lewis of Slidell, LA. He is also survived by 2 nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

He was retired from a lifetime of work in sales in the waterworks industry. He is greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Oconee Presbyterian Church, 2601 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA at 2 PM. Memorial gifts may be sent to Oconee Presbyterian Church in his name. Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
