Athens - Franklin Ellsworth Morgan Jr., 86, died February 28, 2010.
A native of Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late Adah Gordon and Franklin Ellsworth Morgan Sr. and the widower of Elizabeth Hastings Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a veteran of the United States Navy, a Third Degree Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rhea and Mike Vezmar of Athens; son, Tom Morgan of Michigan; grandchildren, John and Diane Vezmar, Christine and John Olding, Anthony Morgan, Tom and Yok Morgan and Tim and April Morgan; great-grandchildren, Michael Vezmar, Jack Vezmar and Theresa Olding; nephews and spouses, Jeff Hanlin, Bill and Tami Hanlin, Jerry Hanlin and Jim Hanlin; great-nephew, Spencer Hanlin; and great-niece, Madeline Hanlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Home, c/o Jenny Roach, 2249 Vinson Hwy., Milledgeville, GA 31061.
