Frank H. Stephenson passed away on January 17, 2010. He owned and operated A-1 Veterans Transfer Co. until the mid 1980's, which at that time, was one of the largest moving and storage companies in N.E.Georgia. The company was agents for American Red Ball Transit Co, and North American Van Lines. Mr. Stephenson was a charter member of Campus View Church of Christ and the lake Oconee Church of Christ.
Mr. Stephenson was born in Carroll City Ga. on October 3, 1921 to Charlie Roy and Hattie Barnes Stephenson. He graduated from Farmers High School and was a 1950 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a veteran of World War II, an avid GA bulldog fan and a charter member of the Coliseum Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maggie and his grandson Michael Kelley.
Survivors include 2 sons, Harry Stephenson (Joanne) of Athens, GA, Roy Stephenson (Doris) of Murphy, N.C. and 2 daughters, Sandra Stephenson Kelley of Calhoun, GA. and Patsy Stephenson Adsit (Rick) of Baltimore, MD. 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West Chapel with Roy Stephenson and Rick Adsit officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 19, 2010 from 6:00- 8:00 P.M.
