Athens, GA - Frank Erwin Duncan, Jr., 82, died August 29, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Athens, he was the son of the late Frank E., Sr. and Florrye Dawson Duncan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Smith Pharmacy/Rite Aid with over 30 years of service. Frank was an active member and served as head of numerous Masonic bodies including, Past Master of Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge #22, Scottish Rite Mason and American Legion Post 20. He was Vice Chairman of the Board of Women of the World and longtime member of Tuckston United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities and taught the Co/Workers Sunday School Class. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Duncan, step son, Gerald Stalker, sister, Barbara Tillman, and nephew, Scott Tillman. He is survived by brothers and sisters in law, Bobby and Jackie Duncan and Lamar and Gayle Duncan; step daughter in law, Linda Fletcher Stalker; step grandchildren, Lauren (Doug) Roig and Chris Stalker; 2 step great grandchildren, Alex and Nick Roig and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Dr. James Mooneyhan and Rev. John Turlington officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuckston United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
