Frank (Bob) Lee Culbertson, 93, died January 22, 2015. He was born March 14, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of Winterville. He was the son of the late Arthur C. and Pearl (Edwards) Culbertson. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific aboard the USS Intrepid. He drove for Athens City Bus lines for 14 years and was well known for operating the Bobs Texaco Station in Winterville for many years.
Bob was preceded in death by his former wife, Pearl (Borders), his late wife, Juanita (Jones Melton), and step-son, Wayne Melton, Sr.
He is survived by a daughter, Miriam Stokes (Joel Albright), Bethany, OK; granddaughter, Shannon Holt, Dothan, AL; grandsons, Mitch Stokes (Pam), Yukon, OK; Robert Stokes (Jayne), Oklahoma City, OK; Greg Stokes (Tara), Piedmont, OK; stepdaughter, Jackie Hix (Dennis), Lavonia, GA; step-granddaughter, Angie Hix; step-grandsons, Wayne Melton, Jr. (Pam); Jeff Melton (Kim), Tim, and 25 great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2PM, January 25, 2015 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East followed by services at 3PM officiated by Pastor Janice Loggins. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
