Frank Eugene Cash, 88, of Athens, GA passed away Friday, January 8th, 2016. A native of Athens, Mr. Cash was the son of the late Layman Lester and Cora Watkins Cash, and was preceded in death by his daughter Beverly Cash Malo, and four siblings: Layman Cash, Hugh W. Cash, Ruth C. Fowler and Penny T. Cline.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Theresa Freeman Cash; daughters, Delaine Brown (Charlie) of Martinez, and Amy Carson (Johnny) of Athens; brothers, Harvey L. Cash of Acworth, and J. Gary Cash of Elberton; and grandchildren, Ashley Cook (Robbie), Alex Brown, Ryan Carson, and great-grandchild Nicholas Cook.
Frank graduated from Athens High School and was a sergeant in the US Army. Frank's many years with Colonial Pipeline, along with his retirement job at the Athens YMCA and his family, gave him happiness and satisfaction. He was a member of Athens First Baptist Church and the Athens YMCA. His interests included his family, lifting weights, greeting people at the church door each Sunday morning, and gardening. Everyone who met "Mr. Frank" will remember his warm smile and wonderful personality.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10th at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with interment following at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10th at Lord and Stephens West prior to the funeral service.
