Francis “Frank” George Reidmiller, 89, of Athens, died January 6, 2019.
A native of Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Leonard and Marie Reidmiller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings and his wife, Jean Larsen Reidmiller. Frank was a devoted family man who worked hard to provide for his wife and the children they raised together in Hopatcong, NJ.
After years of service to his country in the National Guard, Frank retired to Athens, GA, where he opened up a small repair and carpentry business. Frank was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Athens Food Bank alongside his wife.
Frank is survived by his four children and their spouses: Karen Turner and husband Barry of Athens; Frank G. Reidmiller, Jr. and wife Caroll of Highland Lakes, NJ; David Reidmiller and wife Carol of Hampstead, NC; Bob Reidmiller and wife Debbie of Newton, NJ; brother, Richard Reidmiller of Whiting, NJ; six grandchildren, Linnette, Brett, Terry, Preston, Michael and Katie; and one great-grandchild, Addison.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Foundation - Memory Care, 1230 Baxter St., Athens, 30606.
