Frances Ward

Frances Louise Ward, 93, died September 5, 2015.
A native and longtime resident of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Reba Noell Carter and was the widow of Gilder Ray Ward. She was also preceded in death by a brother, D. H. Carter and a daughter, Gilda Fran Simonton.
Mrs. Ward was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She worked for Dr. McDonald, Dr. Burns and Dr. White and owned Tricia Frans Dress Shop for many years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Julius) Young; sister, Florence Williams; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren: Michael Patterson, Ronnie Whitehead, Bronson Dorsey, Britt Simonton, Jonathan Young and Brooke Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mars Hill Baptist Church Spirit Class.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 until 8:30pm at the funeral home.
