Monroe, GA - Frances Swaney Long, 72, died June 30, 2008.
Born and raised in Pendleton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lee F. and Bessie Collins Swaney. She later moved to Anderson, SC where she was assistant manager for Holiday Inn's of America for several years. She moved to Stone Mountain, GA in the early 1970's where she continued in the restaurant business as manager of Grandma's Biscuits for 18 years. She then owned and operated Country Cousins in Tucker until her retirement. Mrs. Long was a member of Clarkston Baptist Church and attended Loganville Baptist Church for the past 8 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Revs. Dorothy Spaulding and Jerry Durham officiating. Interment will be in Carlton Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Long; son, Danny Durham and his wife, Vicki of Evans; stepchildren, Susan Dysinger and her husband, Lyle of Toccoa and Angela Long of Franklin, NC; brothers, Clyde Swaney (Joy) of Athens, Lee Swaney (Joan) of Clarkston, Melvin Swaney (Ann) of Sandy Springs, SC; sister, Ruby Palmer (Jimmy) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Danny Durham, Jr. and Andrew Durham; step grandchildren, Carla Lazarus, Michelle Pruitt, Lindsey Foster, Hank Crane and Bryce Crane; a number of nieces and nephews and her precious dog, Chipper.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
