Watkinsville - Frances V. (Jenny) Dooley, 86, died July 17, 2009.
Born in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Clyde Partridge McAllister and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Tom Dooley, on November 20, 2008. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Inez McAllister, Susie Duncan, Carolyn Bales and Myra Jean Davis and 3 brothers, C.W. McAllister, Robert McAllister and Jesse McAllister. Mrs. Dooley was a longtime, devoted member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church. She spent her life giving and caring for others. She was both a wonderful wife and mother who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST, with the Revs. Carlos Sibley, Ann Hanson and Jim Haralson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Davis, Mary Leah Scoggins, Brandon Boswell, Anthony Davis, Michael Scoggins and Gabriel Scoggins.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Jerrie) Teet and her husband, Lane of Colbert and Teresa J. Fitzpatrick and her husband, Mike of Watkinsville; sisters Patricia Tanksley of Brooklett and Nell (Ed) McDonald of Watkinsville; brother Franklin D. McAllister of Athens; sister-in-law Margaret Boswell of Athens; brother-in-law, Melvin Dooley of Cartersville; granddaughter Sharon Savage and her husband David; grandson Benjamin Tom Fitzpatrick and his wife, Katie; great grandson, Mason Savage and a number of nieces and nephews.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House.
