Frances Celestia Betts

Frances Celestia (Sis) Adams Betts, age 80, died Friday August 23, 2013. "Sis" spent her final days surrounded by her loving husband of 53 years, Cecil P. Betts, her son Russell Betts, and daughters Beverly Busbin and Janice Oldham. "Baby", her beloved cat was also with her.
Sis was preceded in death by her mother Oakley Wheless Adams and father O. Mell Adams, brothers Mell Morris Adams and John Thomas Adams. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by four grandsons, several great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friend of
the family Jonathan Fleeman.
Born in Whitehall and raised in Athens, Sis graduated Athens High School in 1949. She was a dental assistant for the late Drs. Marion Reed and Charles Elder. Later on she was office manager and bookkeeper for Georgia Spring Company.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 25, at 2 P.M. at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Liver
Foundation. The family would also like to thank Linda McNeil and Gentiva Hospice for their excellent
care and concern.
