Florene (Strickland) Jenkins

Florene Strickland Jenkins, 81, of Danielsville GA went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, H. Austin Jenkins, a son, David Alan Jenkins, her parents Euel Thomas Strickland and Roberta Thompson Strickland, sister, Betty Fortson, and brother, Cecil Strickland. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Jenkins (Jan), daughter, Melanie Powers, and daughter and son-in-law, Valerie Calhoun (Ric). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Corey (Faith) Jenkins, David Jenkins, Kenny Powers, Justin Powers, Sarah Powers, Stephanie (Tyler) Calhoun Brown, and Adam Calhoun. Mrs. Jenkins was also survived by her brothers James T. Strickland, C. Curtis Strickland, and Donald E. Strickland. Florene was a member of Hull Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary, voter registrar, and pianist/organist at area churches. A memorial service in her honor will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Hull Baptist Church.
