Athens - Flora Marchant Purvis, 89, wife of the late Zollie Lenwood Purvis, died, Tuesday, March 4, 2008.
Born in Tifton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Eugenia Denby Marchant. In addition to her husband and parents, one son, Donald L. Purvis, grandson, Gregory M. Purvis, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church and the Home Makers Sunday School Class.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Watkinsville First Baptist Church with Rev. Carlos Sibley officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday under the direction of Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester, GA.
Survivors include her children: Ronald (Carol) Purvis of Sharpsburg, Carlton (Ellen) Purvis of Watkinsville, Patricia (Art) Wheeless of Nacogdoches, TX, Hilton (Dorothy) Purvis of Homer, Latrelle Cyree of Dublin; sisters: Jewel Matthews of Lake Blackshear, Mabel Horne of Albany; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Watkinsville First Baptist Church Building Fund.
