Everett Eugene Price, Sr.

Everett Eugene Price, Sr., 89, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2022.
Born, September 17, 1933, Savannah, GA, he was the son of James Taylor Price and Mary Wasson Price. He was married to the late Ruby Catherine Price. He later married Carol Ann Price. Mr. Price worked in Law Enforcement for more than 40 years.  He began his career at the Savannah Police Department where he worked his way up through the ranks during his tenure there. He also worked with the GBI as a special agent, the City of Statesboro as Public Safety Director, and retired after 13 years as the Police Chief for the City of Athens, GA.  Following his retirement, he became Director of Safety and Security for Athens Regional Medical Center. Later, he worked at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home as a funeral assistant.  Everett was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on various committees, He was actively involved with numerous civic organizations.

Survivors include his five children: Brenda (Joseph) Hagan, Diane (Terance) Altman, Marianne (Chin) Lin, Teresa Lanford and Everett Eugene Price, Jr.; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, James (Barbara) Price.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, at 2PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
