Evelyn Kathleen Nutt

Evelyn Kathleen Nutt of Crawford, Georgia, died March 9, 2025. The daughter of Richard Lamar Nutt, Sr. and Ruth Loughridge Nutt, she was born March 26, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia. She is survived by brothers Richard Lamar Nutt, Jr. (Bonnie Martin Nutt), James Edward Nutt (Nancy Wilson Nutt) and sisters Nancy Nutt Turnbull, and Janis Nutt Lee (Richard Clark Lee), and many nieces and nephews. Living most of her life in Georgia, she graduated from Valdosta High School and earned a B.A. degree from the University of Georgia majoring in art. Over the years she had a variety of jobs and lived in Crawford for the last 25 years. For the past 18 years she was a massage therapist bringing her healing touch and compassion to many people in the Athens and Oglethorpe County area. Evelyn was an accomplished artist. She had a special reverence and love of nature and animals. She leaves behind her beloved horses and dogs in addition to family and many friends who love and miss her dearly. A memorial potluck meal in celebration of her life will be held April 12 at 4 p.m. at No. 3 Railroad Street, Arnoldsville, Georgia 30619. Memorial contributions may be made to ReDux Equine Rescue, 204 Mitchell Farm Road, Colbert, Georgia 30628.
