Evelyn (Mama) Long, 90, of Athens, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2006.
A native of Macon County, NC, Mrs. Long was the daughter of the late Charles and Rebecca Burrell Vinson and widow of Esco Long. She retired from Tiny Tot Nursery after many years and was a long time member of West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Teressa and Melton "Smiley" Schultz, Winterville; a son and daughter-in-law, Melton and Rea Long, Athens; grandchildren Phyllis and Ray Ginn, Watkinsville; Jimmy and Kathy Schultz, Danielsville; Randy and Tanya Long, Comer; Tracy and Barkley Smith, Royston; great grandchildren, Renee and Kevin Burns, Lawrenceville; Maggie and Billy Mauldin, Statham; Camilla and Braxton Long, Comer; great great grandchildren, Will and McKenzie Mauldin, Statham; Logan Burns, Lawrenceville; brother, Earnest Vinson, Bogart; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 3:00 PM at West End Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Elliott and Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 890 Boulevard, Athens, GA 30601.
