Evelyn Fay (Bishop) Holland

Evelyn Fay Holland, 82, of Watkinsville passed away July 10, 2023. Mrs. Evelyn was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Mrs. Evelyn passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Born in Austell, GA, she was the daughter of the late, W.H. Bishop & Margie Argo Carter.  Mrs. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Nell Carter and baby brother, James David Bishop. She was a member of Bishop Baptist Church. Mrs. Evelyn was an active member of Joyful Hearts Bible Study group where she formed everlasting friendships.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00pm at Bishop Baptist Church during a celebration of life reception. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Eric Buffington officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.

Mrs. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mahlon S. Holland; daughters, Lisa Holland (Mark) Dawson of Watkinsville and Christy Holland (James) Collins of Cochran; grandchildren, Millie Collins of Sandy Springs and Maggie Collins of Billings, MT; sisters Margaret (Harry) McDonald, Carolyn Pritchett, Betty Beusse, Alene Howard, brother Wayne Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.
