Athens, GA - Evelyn Thomas Allen, 86, died December 23, 2008.
Born in Jeffersonville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Nannie Sue Stokes Thomas and was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Thomas and sister, Betty Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of 60 years,
Albon E. (Al) Allen.
Mrs. Allen was retired payroll clerk with Wellington Puritan following 32 years of service and was a longtime member of Princeton United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Russell Repetske officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Carol Allen of Colbert and Larry G. and Sandra Allen of Watkinsville; grandchildren, India (David) Hutchinson, Wendy Human, Krissy (Bret) Wilkinson, Glenn (Cami) Allen and Josh (Sable) Allen; great grandchildren, Abby Hutchinson, Noah Hutchinson, Silas Hutchinson, Maya Allen and Walker Allen; sister-in-law, Agnes Davis; very special friends, Mary Crowley and Louise Hamby and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622 or Princeton United Methodist Church, 2390 South Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30606.
