Eula Mae (Nix) Downs

Eula Mae Downs, 81, wife of the late Vernon N. Downs, died Sunday, January 22, 2012.

A native of Jefferson, GA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rosina Nix. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Juanita Adams and Doris Holder. She was the owner and operator of the Beauty Nook and she and her husband operated a beef cattle farm. She was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister; Annette and Joe Cochran of Winder; sisters in law: Sara M. Downs and Sara J. Downs both of Watkinsville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11AM at Johnson United Methodist Church with Rev. Tracey Sever and Rev. Robert Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Johnson United Methodist Church.
