Athens, GA - Etta Sue Flanagan Holcomb, 99, died August 7, 2010.
A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Holcomb was a daughter of A. Patrick and Lilla O'Neal Flanagan and the widow of Clyde Holcomb.
Mrs. Holcomb was retired from the University of Georgia Agricultural Extension Service. She was the oldest living member of Tuckston United Methodist Church and the Co-Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Hardeman Phillips Circle and a member of Tuckston Senior Citizens Club.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 9, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Dr. Sheila Bookout and Mr. Chip Barabas officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank Gaines, Benny Gaines, Randall Fowler, Pete Evans, Keith Evans and Ken Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Co-Workers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include nieces, Linda Flanagan Barabas of Athens, Betty Flanagan Williams and Sue Flanagan Evans, both of Macon; two sisters in law, Margaret Flanagan of Ormond Beach, FL and Annis Herring of Athens and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuckston United Methodist Church or Cemetery Fund or St. Mary's Hospice House.
