Ethel Mae "Tillie Mae" Wilson

Ethel Mae "Tillie Mae" Wilson, age 90, wife of the late Fred Wilson, of Watkinsville, died April 6, 2015.

Born Watkinsville on December 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wilkes and Mary Belle Hardigree Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: WC (Esther) Wilkes, George (Annette) Wilkes, Twin Brother EM Wilkes, Mary Wiloses (Jack) Wilson, Ruby Batchelor, Jennie Kilpatrick.

She as a wonderful mother grandmother, wife, aunt, cousin and friend to all that knew her. Everyone that had an opportunity to share in her life was truly blessed.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of Antioch Christian Church all of her life. She retired from General Times Corporation in Athens, but was also a homemaker and could sew beautifully. Everyone loved her world famous coconut cakes and fried apple pies. If you saw her without a smile on her face it was because she didn't know you were in the room.

She is survived by her four children: Donald Wilson (Debbie), of Watkinsville, Jennie Elaine Wilson Hayes (David), of Watkinsville, Mary Wilson Di Letto (Joe), of Madison, and Joe Wilson (Valerie), of Watkinsville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws: Betty Wilkes, Lucy Fambrough, Sara Johnson; brother-in-laws: Gene Batchelor, Thomas Kilpatrick and Bobby Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11AM at Antioch Christian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Lord and Stephens West.

Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
