Ethel Lee Allen

Ethel Lee Allen, age 89, of Hull, GA, passed away August 24, 2021. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Oconee County, GA to the late C.H. Lee and Julia Reba Phillips Lee.

All who knew and loved Ethel were abundantly blessed by her free flowing wisdom, her fierce independence, her delight and talent as a master seamstress, and her joy in gardening and cooking. Above all this, her legacy is marked by her deep love for her family and her love for the Lord. Ethel was a faithful member of Hull Baptist Church and previously enjoyed socializing and traveling with her friends in the XYZ Senior Group at Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Oconee County High School and retired from Dairypak following over 30 years of dedicated service.

Ethel is survived by her four children: Linda Hobbs (Larry), James Bryant, Jr. (Susie), Dwayne Bryant (Lynn), and Elaine Blount (Terry); her sister Mildred Jacobs; her five grandchildren: Melony Mosley, Leanne Hobbs, Andy Bryant (Lindsey), Amanda Hunter (Thomas), and Michelle Cole (Keith); 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by both parents; her first husband and father of her children James Carlton Bryant; her second husband George Herbert Arnold; her third husband Henry Calvin Allen; her brother Roy Edward Lee, and her step mother Etha Belle Lee.

A graveside service will be held to honor and remember Ethel at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, GA, on Friday, August 27th at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Doug Nix officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hope Haven of NE Georgia “in Honor of Ethel Allen, Grandmother to Leanne Hobbs.”
