Ernestine (Birdsong) Thomas

Ernestine Birdsong Thomas, 93, wife of 69 years to the late Harold R. Thomas, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

A native of Albertville, AL, she was the daughter of the late C. Q. Birdsong and Helen Olney Woodham Birdsong.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Walter Harold "Buck" Thomas and a brother, Walton Birdsong.  Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Bogart High School as the Valedictorian and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and she and her husband operated H. R. Thomas Store for over thirty-five years.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay (Bernard) Garrett of Statham and Linda Thomas Bond of Bogart; brother: Henry Birdsong of Hartford, AL; five grandchildren: Allen (Becki) Garrett, Simon (Julianne) Garrett, Eli (Lindsay) Garrett, Katie (Jake) McClure and Jesse (Jennifer) Bond and seven great grandchildren

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2PM at Bethabara Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Bray officiating. Interment will be in Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
