Bogart - Charles Ernest Vinson, 103, died August 2, 2007.
A native of Macon County, NC, he was a son of the late C.C. and Rebecca Burrell Vinson, and was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Fannie Holcomb Vinson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Clifton Vinson, and daughter, Maxine James, four brothers and three sisters. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 5, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST, with Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 PM at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery, Dillard, GA.
Survivors include two daughters, LaVerne Brown of Athens, GA and Dolores Shepherd of Morganton, NC; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to St Mary's Hospice or Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge or arrangements.
