Emory Rudolph "Rudy" Strickland

Emory Rudolph "Rudy" Strickland, of Hull, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born on August 5, 1948, he was a son of the late Candler Strickland and Fannie McElreath Strickland Gentry of Comer/Danielsville, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Beth Swindel Strickland and his brothers, Richard Strickland and Randolph Strickland. 

Rudy is survived by his two sons, Jason E. Strickland of Durango, CO and Seth Strickland and fiance, Amanda of Hull, GA; two grandchildren, Harrison P. Strickland and Maddie Strickland and their mother, Heather as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Rudy graduated from Madison County High School, upon graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army, he served 18 months in Vietnam with the Big Red One Unit. Following his Vietnam deployment, he spent many years in the Air Force Reserves. Upon returning home, he and Beth were married on October 24, 1970. At this time, he joined Reliance Electric Company and was with the company through many phases until his retirement in 2011. Rudy also attended Athens Technical College and the University of Georgia.

Memorial services will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville with military honors provided by the United States Army. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
