Emmett Neal Weatherly

Emmett Neal Weatherly, Jr., 85, husband of 58 years to Cynthia Plummer Weatherly, died on January 6, 2025. Born in Albany, GA, Neal was the son of the late Emmett Neal Weatherly, Sr. and Beverly Vaughn Weatherly. Neal retired from the University of Georgia as a Professor of Landscape Architecture at the School of Environmental Design. He served for several years in the Georgia Extension Service, in the Army National Guard, member and deacon at Beech Haven Baptist Church and had previously attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church. He was an avid UGA fan and enjoyed attending football games and gymnastic meets. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters: Aimee Ballentine and Adrienne (Robert) Sheffield; sister: Sharron Mitcham and four grandchildren: Tyler Sheffield and Robert, Nicholas and Jonathan Ballentine.

A private family memorial service was held.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Neal Weatherly Scholarship Fund or Beech Haven Baptist Church.
