On February 4, 2012, Emmett Larry "Butch" Lunceford left his earthly home and went to be with his lord Jesus Christ.
He was born in 1939 on September 21 in Atlanta Georgia. His was preceded in death by his parents Garner and Ruby Lunceford. He grew up and attended school in Warner Robins and was a proud graduate of Warner Robins High School in 1958. He served in the USMC from July of 1958 until May of 1962. He was a dedicated employee of the Houston County sheriffs department, Warner Robins police department, Warner Robins Recreation department and drove a school bus for the Houston County Board of Education for 38 years. During his spare time he was a volunteer coach for the city recreation department and filmed the football games for the Warner Robins High School Demons for 20 plus years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra and son Anthony (Sharon) and daughter Lisa Mobley (John). His 5 grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Jacob and Brett Mobley, Beau, Kasey and Zane Lunceford.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 7:00 p. m. at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. The family will also receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, GA on Houston Lake Road.
The family has asked that donations be made to St. Mary's Hospice House in lieu of flowers.
