Emmett Guy Loyd

Emmett Guy Loyd, 73, husband of Barbara Fortson Loyd, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Born in Covington, GA, he was the son of the late Anderson Bonnard Loyd and Minnie Pippen Loyd. Mr. Loyd retired from Southern Bell after 34 years. In his retirement, Emmett enjoyed taking care of his rental properties and their tenants. He was a member of Watkinsville First United Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to his wife include three children: Alysa Loyd Connelly (Curt Arulf) of Statham, Mark Loyd (Andra Walton) of Watkinsville, John and Jana Loyd Colclough of Watkinsville; siblings: Dale (Phil) Tuck of Cedartown, GA and Gary (Beth) Loyd of Thomasville, GA and five grandchildren: Bobby Guy Loyd, Nicholas Mark Loyd, Forrest Connelly, Emma Ann Ford and Webb Connelly. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 4PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 at the funeral home.
