Emma Kate Fordyce, 96, wife of the late Philip Alexander Fordyce died on November 22, 2016 at home.
Born Emma Kate Radford in Hartford, Alabama on April 26, 1920, was the daughter of James Houston Radford and Katie Leona Pouncey Radford. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Harriet Fordyce and her brother James Solomon Radford. She was a member of Tuckston Methodist Church and the Co-Workers Sunday School Class. She received her early education in Geneva County Alabama and graduated in Social Work from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). She served with the American Red Cross during World War II. A long-time resident of Atlanta, she moved to Arnoldsville in 1997 to be with her family, all living there.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Katherine Statham; son: Cary Philip Fordyce and daughter-in-law Christia Bush Fordyce, two grandchildren Kevin Philip Carl Statham and Rebecca Kate O'Tuel.
Family will receive friends at Lord & Stephens East Athens, Wednesday evening, November 23, 2016 from 6 to 8pm.
Graveside service and burial will be held 2PM, Friday, November 25, 2016 at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation Inc. or the American Red Cross.
