Emerson Marshall "Marshall" Turner

Emerson Marshall Turner, Jr., age 59, of Bogart, GA passed away suddenly on July 25, 2014. Marshall was born on February 12, 1955 in Elberton, GA to the late Emerson Marshall Turner, Sr. and Helen Ward Turner of Elberton, GA. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elaine Casper Turner formally of Statham, GA, brother, Barry P. Turner and his wife Faye of Elberton, GA sister, Cherie Turner Edmonds and her husband Danny of McDonough, GA, mother-in-law Sara E. Casper of Statham, GA, brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Melinda Casper of Statham, GA and six nieces and nephews: Justin Colvard, Jamie Colvard Jankolovits, Jessica Turner, Amy Turner, Grant Casper, Caitlyn Casper Bacidore and four great-nieces and nephews.
Marshall was a graduate of Northeast Georgia Technical College, Georgia Southern University and earned a MBA at Emory University. He was a member of Mensa America.
Marshall was an accomplished businessman who worked in technology for over 25 years. He owned and operated Turner Technology, and a Web Design business. Three years ago he and his wife Elaine became the owners of Architectural Glass Flooring & Cast Glass in Good Hope, GA. He was enjoying designing unique custom made glass products. He had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid runner and loved kayaking, camping, snow skiing and was a small plane pilot.
A celebration of Marshall's life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home-West, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677 followed by a memorial reception at Marshall and Elaine's home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marshall's memory to Statham First Baptist Church, Statham, GA http://www.stathamfirstbaptist.org/ or Rock Branch Baptist Church, Elberton, GA http://www.rockbranchbaptistchurch.org/
