Born in Livingston, TX, he was the son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Koch Pert. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife Philomena Pert of Athens, daughter and son in law, Heidi and J.D. Powers, grandchildren, Beth and Jay Powers all of Taylors, SC, daughter and son in law, Holly and Tony Pierce, grandchildren, Tim and Todd Pierce all of Oglethorpe, two sisters, Gladys M. Talley of Wilmington, Delaware, and Violet Burpree of Athens, GA.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 25, 2006 at 11AM at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter, 2526 Cumberland Parkway Suit 205, Atlanta, GA30333
