Nicholson - Elizabeth Gunnells Shannon, 87, wife of the late Cecil Shannon, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the St. Mary's Hospice House.
Born in Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Bertha Faulkner Gunnells. She was a homemaker and member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children: Martha E. Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Marvin E. Shannon of Colbert, Paul M. Shannon of Nicholson, Terry W. Shannon of Colbert, sister in law: Virginia Gunnells of Savannah, GA, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 8 , 2008 at 11AM at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Hospice.
