Hull - Elizabeth Sykes Kellar, 88, of Hull, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at her home.
Born in Hampton, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Franklin P. Sykes, Sr. and Tallulah Sullivan Sykes. She was a member and former Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Scarlett O'Hatters Red Hat Club, the Athens Christian Women's Club, Central Baptist Church Victory Sunday School Class, a volunteer at the Athens Botanical Gardens, and a founding member of the Broad River Beagle Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Norman Kellar and her son William Norman Kellar, Jr., of Watkinsville, brothers Earl Sykes of Aiken, S.C. and Frank Sykes of Brunson, S.C.
She is survived by her son, David Kellar and his wife Melba of Hull, daughter, Betsy Barrow of High Point, N.C., daughter in law, Faye Kellar of Watkinsville, sister Faladie Harrison of Bishop, sisters in law, Maxine Sykes of Brunson, S.C., and Sylvia Sykes of Aiken, S.C., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many additional family members and close friends.
Funeral services will be held 2PM, Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Joel S. Dover officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
