Elise Allen Hawkins

Elise Allen Hawkins, 95, of Danielsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Born in Franklin County, she was one of 13 children born to James Crawford Whitsel, Sr. and Alice Franklin Whitsel. Elise retired from the University of Georgia and was an avid fan of the Bulldogs. She was also a fan of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Elise was a faithful member of Moon’s Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and 12 siblings, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Thomas Allen and her second husband, Fred Hawkins.

Survivors include two children, Rita Tiller (Wesley) and Steve Allen (Betty); two grandchildren, Thomas Tiller and Josh Allen (Kayla); one great-granddaughter, Riley Grace Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Moon’s Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Allen, Thomas Tiller, Kevin Rowe, Terry Smith, Lamar Sapp and Bill Chandler. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
