Elender V. Hale, 88, died October 26, 2011.
Born in Walhalla, SC, Mrs. Hale lived in this area since 1947. She was a daughter of the late Albert David and Middie Garrett Vissage and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Lovic R. Hale, Jr. Mrs. Hale retired from the University of Georgia and was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Prospect United Methodist Church with Chaplain Maitland LaForce officiating.
Survivors include two children, Teresa (Rick) Griggs of Athens and Wayne (Tina) Hale of Watkinsville; four grandchildren, Karen Carnes, Stephen (Jennifer) Hale, Allison (John) Lewis and Andrea (Jonathan) Smith; ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Silverleaf Alzheimer's Care and Compassionate Hospice.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
