Elaine Ivie Lundy, 77, of Farmington, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2023.
A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Thurman and Pauline Pritchett Ivie.
Elaine was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was the oldest active member of Freeman Creek Baptist Church, where she played piano for over 60 years. She retired from Bell South in 1998 after over 35 years of service. She never met a stranger and was well known and beloved in her community. Her family, and especially her grandchildren, were her pride and joy and thanks to them, she was lovingly known by all as “Hipoe.”
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years and love of her life, Ted Lundy, and her brother, Charles Ivie.
Elaine is survived by her three daughters: Cathy Lundy Whitehead (James), Jennifer Lundy Holaday (Terry), and Laura Lundy Kennon (Jamie); brother, Doyle Ivie (Claire); sister-in-law, Carol Ivie; ten grandchildren: Baxter Davis (Elizabeth), Austin Peck, Hannah Davis Fritz (Jesse), Zach Kennon, Sam Kennon, Andrew Whitehead (Jessica), Meredith Fowler (T.J.), Jolene Holaday Dixon (Steven), Chris Hood (Katie), and Natasha Baracco (George); seventeen great-grandchildren: Alexis Davis, Jacob Davis, Aubrey Palmer, Timothy Davis, Levi Davis, Samantha Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Rylee Hood, Sarah Hood, Isaiah Mahaffey, Karsyn Mahaffey, Rose Whitehead, Dylan Whitehead, Emersyn Fowler, Eliza Fritz, Everlyn Hood, and Sebastian Baracco; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 19 at Lord and Stephens, West Chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Pastors Mike Pritchett and Ken Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends the evening prior to the service at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
