Watkinsville, GA - Mavis Elaine Healan, 78, died December 25, 2014.
Born in Lawrenceville, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ina Hosea Nichols, brothers, Troy and Larry Nichols and her husband of 40 years, Rev. Claud A. Healan, Jr. A resident of Oconee County since 1968, Mrs. Healan retired in 1999 from Oconee County as Deputy Clerk of Superior Court. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where she taught Mission Friends until 6 weeks ago and was a devoted member of the Spirit Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Jack Segars, Dan Fuller and Raymond Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Lathan Nichols, Wayne Nichols, Tim Nichols, Bob Kulp, Nick Anderson, Frankie Wilson.
Survivors include her children, Rebekah Healan of Bogart and Greg (Sherry) Healan of Watkinsville; sisters, Iris Hewell of Dacula, Kathleen Anderson of Commerce, Mary (D.L.) Corley of Duluth, Nadine Lacy of Flowery Branch and Ione (Raymond) Wilson of Buford; brothers, Ernest (Betty) Nichols of Lawrenceville and Lathan Nichols of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Ryan Healan and Carly Healan and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church Mission Friends.
