Edward Wood

Edward "Ed" Wood, age 79 of Arnoldsville passed away at St. Mary's Hospice House following a period of declining health. Mr. Wood was born on September 22, 1931 to Elijah and Lura Phillips Wood in Franklin County GA. He was employed with UGA in the physical plant for 35 years, and was a member of Gordon's Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Laura Mae Wood, Daughter and Son-In-Law Debra and Doug Tatum, Sons and Daughters-In-Law Tommy and Michelle Wood, and Jeffrey and Dee Wood. Grandchildren Brandon Wood, Joshua Wood, Andrew Tatum, Brandy Wood, Drew Pullian, and Alex Pullian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 6-8, with the funeral services on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gene McCullough and the Rev. Wayne Powell officiating with interment to follow in Athens Memory Gardens. Those wishing to do so may make memorial donations to St. Mary's Hospice House at 1660 Jennings Mill Rd. Bogart, GA 30622. Lord and Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
