Arnoldsville - George Edward Veale, 75, passed away July 2, 2008.
A native of Clarke County, he was a son of the late Claude S. and Winnie Toney Veale and was preceded in death by his son, James Harold Veale and sister, Patricia Burgess. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Temple United Methodist Church. He was employed for a total of 38 years with Genuine Auto Parts in Atlanta and Athens Auto Supply.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Temple United Methodist Church with Revs. Kathleen Deegan-Neal and Albert Askew officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Veale; two sisters, Martha Westbrook of Rising Fawn, Ga. and Anita Watkins of Thomson, Ga.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2467 Wire Bridge Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
