Watkinsville - Edward LaCount, 74, died Monday, January 26, 2009.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11AM at Watkinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight January 28, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late John Gilbert and Florence Peterman LaCount. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: William Edward LaCount; brothers: John LaCount, CT LaCount; sisters: Henrietta Fortson, Edna L. Setzer. He was a member of Watkinsville United Methodist Church, had served his country in the US Army and was currently working at Defenders Security as a Security Guard at Southwire.
Survivors include his son; Charles (Susan) LaCount of Watkinsville; daughters: Donna C. (Derrick) Norton of Eastville, Susan LaCount Halbritter of Watkinsville, sister: Etheleen Hooper of Hull; grandchildren: Wyatt Halbritter and Emily LaCount.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
