Edward Hall, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Bogart, Georgia on July 26, 2021, surrounded by his beloved family.

Ed was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on October 5, 1938 to Edward William Hall and Sophia Zara (Spinapont) Hall.  He was the eldest of five children raised in Carlstadt and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

He graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1956.  He was drafted into the US Army and served as a weapons expert in the 3rd Infantry Division from 1961 to 1963, spending much of that time in Germany.  He later completed his degree in business at the Edward Williams College of Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Ed married his wife of nearly 52 years, Judy (Boomer) on October 1st, 1969.  Ed’s early career was in sales in the lighting and electronic products industry and involved business travel, which he enjoyed.  For nearly three decades, he traveled around the United States and internationally as his career evolved.   His family relocated several times, spending several years in Chicago, Cleveland, and several towns in New Jersey until they settled in Watkinsville, GA in 1995.  Ed had a second career working at the EPA in Athens, GA for over twenty years, retiring at the age of 80. He and Judy relocated to Bogart, GA in 2019.

Ed’s family was the most important part of his life, and his two favorite roles were husband and father.  He was a longstanding member of the Watkinsville First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving as president of the Progressive Sunday School Class for many years.  He was a man of strong faith; he was kind, gentle, thoughtful, and he was well-respected by everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sisters Judith Lanusse and June Hall, and his niece, Sharon Lanusse Petzold.  Surviving in addition to his wife Judy are his daughter Jennifer Kirkham and her husband James of Richmond, Virginia, his son Matthew of Athens, his sister Eileen Rivelli, his brother Darren Hall, and several nieces and nephews.
