Lexington - Edward L. Barnes, Sr., 75, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
Born in White Plains, GA, he was the son of the late Thomas David and Flora Mae Edwards Barnes. He was the owner and operator of Barnes Sound Service. Mr. Barnes served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his wife Charlene Holmes Barnes; son and daughter in law: Edward Lary (Miranda Chitwood) Barnes, Jr. of Lexington; daughter: Janet Lea Barnes Manders of Duluth; brother: Waldo Hayes Barnes of Pinelog, Ga.; grandchildren: Kasey Manders, Daniel Barnes, Ali Barnes, David Barnes as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2PM at Clark Cemetery, Lexington, GA. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Huff, Eric Huff, Craig Huff, Curt Arthur, Donny Ruff and Wood McCart. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
