Winterville, GA - Edna I. Saxon, 82, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the St. Mary's Hospice House.
A native of Oconee County she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee and Dovie Mae Ashley Saxon. She retired from EI Dupont after 16 years and was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Doug Bleckley.
Survivors include her sisters, Liz Warren of Cornelia, Elnora (Bob) Townsend of Winterville; nieces and nephews: Debbie (Jimmy) Hembree, Chuck (Angie) Townsend, Bobby (Tracy) Townsend, Lynn (Joe) Warren, Judy Forsyth, Amy (Frank) Waters; 10 great nieces and nephews and 5 great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman and Rev. Elmer Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Hembree, Rusty Hembree, Kevin Townsend, Cody Townsend, Russell Sloan, Bo Chesser, Eustace Griffin and Danny Cheek.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 at the funeral home, Monday, August 23, 2010.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice House.
