Watkinsville - Edith Parsons Thomas, 93, died August 28, 2010.
A native of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Pauline Gordon Parsons, and the widow of Shannon Thomas. She was a devoted lifelong member of Union Christian Church, and loved the Lord.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Union Christian Church with Rev. Troy Tatum and Wayde Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie (Mina) Thomas and Harry (Reta) Thomas, all of Watkinsville, Janet (Bill) Decker of Lexington, and Alan (Ann) Thomas of Watkinsville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Family Life Enrichment Center, as well as the nurses and staff of the sixth floor at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Memorials may be made to the Union Christian Cemetery Fund or Gideon's International.
