Watkinsville - Edith Hardt Blue, 74, wife of the late Dr. Jack L. Blue, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 in Giessen (Adlahn) Germany while visiting family.
Mrs. Blue was born in Giessen (Adlahn) Germany, to the late Hermann Hardt and Charlotte Ebert Hardt. Edith was one of twelve children, she became a US Citizen in 1959, shortly there after she met and married her husband, Dr. Jack L. Blue. Mrs. Blue had been a resident of the community for the past 30 years. She was a member of Holly Cross Lutheran Church, Ladies Garden Club, Watkinsville Womanís Club and several other civic organizations.
Survivors include her sisters; Eleonore Steigmann, Annie Schmidt and Erika Limbourg all of Germany, nieces; Margrit Miller of Midland, GA, Marion Robinson of Stone Mountain, GA, step children; Janice, Jeff and Greg Blue, step grandchildren; Catlyn, Baylor, Jacquelyn and Daniell Blue, friend and business associate, Loran Myers of Watkinsville and several other family members in Germany and the USA.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2006 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Chaplin Mark Fite officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 6 to 8PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Palmer, Larry Pruitt, Dr. Karl Largheinrich, Ricky Smith, Dr. Allen Scott and Mike Benton.
