Edgar "Tommy" Compton
September 16, 1939 — June 8, 2014
Edgar "Tommy" Compton, 74, passed away June 8, 2014. He was the son of the late Eddie and Janie Compton and was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Compton Knight.
Mr. Compton was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired after 44 years as a truck driver.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, East with Revs. B.G. Miller and Chuck Tatum officiating. The family will gather at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 PM until service time.
Survivors include his sons, Michael (Anita) Compton, Ronald Compton, Chris Compton and Benji Compton; daughter, Tina Marie (Dwayne) Cravens; step son, Harry Taylor; sisters, Ruth Perry and Carolyn (Larry) Tyner; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
