Edgar Don Christy

Edgar Don Christy, 76, died July 8, 2012.
A native of Carnesville, GA, he was a son of the late James Edgar and Sadie Davison Christy and was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry D. Christy.
Mr. Christy was a veteran of the United States Navy and was employed for eighteen years with Westinghouse. He owned and operated several businesses over the years in Lexington including Minit-Serv, Mastercraft Vans and Oglethorpe Landscape Supplies.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Larry Davison officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Christy; two children, Donna Cofer of Lexington and Tim Christy and Hollie Bell of Snellville; grandson, Blake Christy of Snellville; mother-in-law, Ruby Andrews of Lexington; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post #123 and Jerry Christy, Curtis Arthur, Corry Arthur, Larry Barnes, Ralph Peterman, Fred Davenport, John Harold Williams, Bobby Daniels, Tom Harris, Malcolm Huff, Billy Bryant and Jose Manuel Alegria.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel.
Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe is in charge of arrangements.
